Anyone remember the James Bond Jr. cartoon? Ah… Saturday Morning Cartoons how I miss thee!!!

Ahhh… memories. I’m going to see “Quantum of Solace” in about… 15-17 minutes at the exclusive “Westminster Town Mall Regal Cinema” (which is *not* available for on-line ticketing I might add – to give you an idea of just how exclusive it truly is). I expect the following:

  • A theme/intro song which involves some sort of techno/sultry beat to which silhouettes of naked women will dance
  • A 2-5 minute intro scene that we won’t realize it part of the plot until half-way through the movie
  • Another scene where the new James Bond shows us how “fit” he is, by jumping around on some buildings or doing step-aerobics.
  • A quick introduction of a sexy, scantily clad women (perhaps with some sort of scratch on her face from a recent fight, complete with small drop of blood) that James Bond will be forced to sleep with.
  • Some sort of deception or lie from someone close to James Bond
  • A scene where “M” expresses her disappointment with his action (“I’m not mad… I’m just dissapointed”, anyone?)
  • Some sort of vengeful killing on the part of James Bond (Just like Luke Skywalker and every other user of the “Light” side of the force… he’s a weakling until he gets mad)
  • A high-speed chase involving a car and/or boat and/or helicopter
  • Lots of weaponry, all of which James Bond is proficient in using
  • Some sort of misplaced Computer Science theory or reference (including an operating system that doesn’t exist on some sort of Corporate Sponsor computer like Dell or Apple)
  • A remarkable escape
  • A sweet and sour ending

Tune in next post to see if my predictions were accurate

  • Is it O.K. (in regards to my faith) for God to say “no” when I ask him for something?
  • Do I believe that God wants the absolute best for me?
  • Is it God’s will for humans to die of old age?
  • Is it God’s will for humans to die?
  • Does God decide when my “old age” is?
  • Did “The Fall” skew us irrevocably off of God’s will?

wow.

It’s awesome to say that I’ve been married for three years. It truly is one of the few things in life that I can say was nothing like I expected but everything I hoped all at the same time.

I would like to take this opportunity to say that everyone who every told me anything about the first, second, or third year was totally wrong. LOL.

- “Oooh… honeymoon phase is so great” (meh… yeah, it is … but it’s not like perma-bliss)

- “Watch out for the second year, that’s when reality sets in” (reality set in way before that… the reality of marriage is great)

- “Third year is the most dangerous time… dundunDUN!” (honeymoon phase resurgence?)

Also – the whole bit of advice to just say “That sounds like a great idea, honey”… wow. How can so many people be so wrong? Eh?

I typically enjoy somewhere between one and five Chrismas Songs (not carols, because I feel that word denotes the lame-osity of walking around and singing) a day from January to October. This is really just to hold me over until post-Halloween when I bring it out in full force.

It starts today with Tchaikovsky – The Nutcracker, Act I Scene 2 (March) … I admit – there has already been some serious rocking out.

Perhaps it’s just the memory of being young, on vacation from school, flipping through the Sears “Wish Book” catalog circling all of the things that I thought I wanted. My dad and sisters dancing around the living room, or staring out the window praying for snow to fall before the bus came the following morning. Maybe I’m just a sap who likes Christmas music.

Tomorrow will likely bring out the Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby… mix in a little Transiberian Orchestra for extreme air-guitar action – oh man… Christmas Guitar Hero anyone?!?! – , a little jazz, some no-name “Christmas Chill” music and you’ve got yourself some good “Holiday Season” listening. (Sorry Gwen)

and then there’s the egg nog… oh man
