A couple days ago, I was listening to NPR (as I always do) on my drive to work. One of the stories was a big “upset” over the Air Force awarding an air tanker contact to a foreign company. Here are the links to the story:

They were expressing how it’s such a “big deal” that the Air Force would send jobs over-seas with the economy looking so dreary. My thought was: what about other military equipment (such as the M16 rifle) which are also partially developed overseas? Why doesn’t anyone make a big deal about that?

If people want to bring business to America, then start providing better products at a cheaper price. Why should we spend our money in America if we get a better “bang for our buck” elsewhere?
